Spiced Ricotta with Figs & Honey

I love figs. They are quite possibly my favorite fruit ever. Sadly, the local TX figs are not available yet. However, my local HEB grocery store had some California figs available, so of course I had to buy some!

There are so many things I love to do with figs, but this is one of my absolute favorites (and probably the easiest thing to do)! We made this for dessert last night, and it was truly fantastic, just like I remembered! I can’t wait for the rest of fig season (especially the local fig season)! 🙂

Here is what we did:

Spiced Ricotta with Figs & Honey
A Karen Original recipe
Serves 2

3/4 cup fat free ricotta cheese
2 tsp honey, divided
sprinkle of cinnamon
sprinkle of freshly grated nutmeg
sprinkle of cardamom
2 fresh figs

Figs with ricotta - ingredients

Mix ricotta with 1 tsp honey and spices.

Figs & ricotta - with herbs

Place ricotta on two plates.

Slice figs, and divide evenly among the two plates of ricotta.

Drizzle with remaining 1 tsp honey.
